Lucha House Party leader Kalisto made his grand return on last night's episode of SmackDown.

His comeback distracted Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura during the latter's match with Gran Metalik, and his interference ended up costing Naka the win. Post-match, Metalik, Kalisto and Lince Dorado celebrated their reunion in-ring.

This is the first time fans have seen Kalisto since he suffered a separated shoulder during a house show match on 30 December 2019. In April 2020, the masked man also told fans on social media that he'd torn a ligament too, but he didn't need surgery for either injury.

Despite rumours suggesting he might leave the company, Kalisto has inked a new multi-year deal with WWE and pledged his future to the Lucha cause.

It's likely that some sort of combination of faction members will now challenge Cesaro and Shinsuke for the SmackDown Tag-Team Titles at SummerSlam on 23 August. That bout has been building for a few weeks now - hype started shortly after Metalik's one-off Intercontinental Title shot against AJ Styles.

Kalisto's return is a welcome one. Lucha House Party are much stronger with him around.
