WWE Champion Seth Rollins Confirms No More Curb Stomp

Watch as the WWE Champion confirms he's been forced to drop the finisher.

Seth Rollins appeared at a Wizard World Comic Con in St. Louis last weekend and he was specifically asked by a fan during a Q&A session if WrestleMania 31 is the last time we'll ever see a Curb Stomp. Rollins replied after a brief pause: "Uh...yes." The finishing move of the current WWE Champion Rollins was banned shortly after WrestleMania because WWE was concerned that the move might cause head injuries. Even though there were no reported concussions or other injuries that we know of due to Rollins using the move, WWE decided to tell Rollins that he had to stop doing it in around mid-April. There's also a lawsuit against WWE that was filed by former employees that are dealing with injuries, so that's part of it too. Rollins went on to explain himself a bit more: "It's gone. Sorry. But hey, never say never. You never know, but for now yes for an extended period of time the Pedigree will be the finishing move going forward." The "never say never" phrase is something that wrestlers often say and it applies in this instance because WWE could easily change their mind on the subject. Rollins using the Pedigree is a smart move because it makes him look like the perfect understudy to Triple H. It also sets up a future feud for them either later this year or next year when one of them goes face after things go south because we know that's what happens with these storylines. What was also telling about Rollins talking about the move being banned is the fans were sad when he said it. The move really was unique and stood out of the pack in terms of being a creative finishing move to win a match. Nobody else in WWE was doing it, so it was perfect for him. As Rollins said, the move could be brought back down the road, but for now it's a thing of the past and there's no better confirmation than hearing it from the man himself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AKennx_gI4
