WWE Is Most Viewed Channel On YouTube - Is It Hurting Raw?

WWE having sensational success on video platform... but is it hurting Raw?

WWE are having sensational success on YouTube, and took top spot as the most viewed YouTube channel in August 2015. That's according to TubeFilter, who ranked WWE with 456,365,680 views in August and 432,216 new subscribers. The YouTube success was boosted by SummerSlam interest, but it opens up a whole new debate, is WWE's YouTube channel hurting the WWE Network subscriptions and Raw ratings? Think about it, there's so much great content on the YouTube channel, are some people happy with just watching WWE through that medium? It could be a factor in Raw's record low ratings this year. WWE are quick to post the highlights from Raw on their YouTube, and some people are perhaps happy to digest Raw in that way. It allows for cutting out a lot of the three hour filler, as the YouTube videos are concise and to the segment point. You can even watch entire matches on the channel. This could even be a factor in WWE Network subscriptions being low. When there's a culture of content for free, it puts some people off paying for videos. The WWE Network obviously has far superior content, but the WWE YouTube channel is perhaps satisfying enough for the more casual fan. What do you think, is WWE's success on YouTube a double edged sword? Does it partially explain Raw's ratings crisis? Have your say in the comments and share this article on social media.
