WWE Lifts Charlotte Flair's Suspension On Raw
Sonya Deville scrapped Charlotte Flair's kayfabe suspension on the latest WWE Raw.
Sonya Deville lifted Charlotte Flair's storyline suspension on Monday's episode of WWE Raw.
Deville, who acts as an on-screen assistant to regular authority figure Adam Pearce, announced that Flair would be reinstated after apologising for attacking referee Eddie Orengo on last week's show. Charlotte did, but Orengo also said sorry - he never reprimanded Rhea Ripley for getting involved in the Flair vs. Asuka match.
Earlier, Deville was shown letting Charlotte into the ThunderDome backstage. Then, following the apology segment, an angry Pearce was shown berating Sonya for going behind her back. This story thread has been burning away in the background for months now, more so on SmackDown than Raw.
Sonya recently interrupted Pearce's convos with Paul Heyman, Cesaro and more to undermine her "boss".
WWE didn't get a lot of mileage out of Flair's suspension though. They could've decided to spin that out for another few weeks (at least) before WrestleMania Backlash on 16 May. Now, it appears that Charlotte is headed for a three-way Raw Women's Title showdown against reigning champ Ripley and Asuka on the pay-per-view.
Stay tuned for any official announcements regarding that.
