In news that is very unlikely to alter the ongoing narrative that WWE is in a state of flux and unrest, long-serving Vice President of Communications, Adam Hopkins, has this week departed the company.

Shockwaves pulsed through the promotion in the wake of the news, which was considered inexplicable - or as sources put it to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, a "WTF" feeling.

With a company known for its high rate of turnover for a quarter of a century, Hopkins per Johnson - and Dave Meltzer, who tweeted recently that he was "always a pleasure to work with" - had "built a great reputation for being fair, even when he and media outlets would have been in adversarial roles". Hopkins was also credited, according to Johnson, of ridding WWE of its stigma as an isolationist and combative company to deal with, particularly when Triple H took on the NXT project in the early 2010s.

There is no word yet on whether the recent changes that have swept across the company informed his exit.

While Johnson was unable to specifically name anybody else, he was told that Hopkins wasn't the only employee from the "HR side" to have recently left the organisation.
