WWE Smackdown Spoilers Results (Aug 4)

Roman Reigns battles Rusev in the main event.

This week's Smackdown taping took place in Sacramento, California. It featured a limited WWE roster because many of them were getting ready to fly to Australia for live events over there, so there were people that wrestled more than once and will likely have several video packages to help fill the time as well. Here are the results from the show. There was a Roddy Piper tribute video to start the broadcast. Opening promo duties went to Roman Reigns, who issued a "Family vs Family" challenge with him and Dean Ambrose taking on Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper at SummerSlam. That's the match that most of us expected. Rusev showed up to trash talk Reigns about their match later in the show. Mark Henry and the Prime Time Players beat The New Day with Henry getting the pin with the World's Strongest Slam. After the match, The New Day did a promo complaining about the loss. Charlotte had a match with Naomi in singles action, but Sasha Banks attacked Charlotte when she applied the Figure Eight, so the match ended in a disqualification. Naomi and Sasha Banks beat Charlotte and Becky Lynch with Naomi getting the pin on Lynch. Paige wasn't there to support her Submission Sorority allies because she was in Orlando working on Tough Enough. Stardust beat Zack Ryder by pinfall. A video aired recapping Paul Heyman's awesome promo with Brock Lesnar from Raw. Big Show was interviewed backstage and mentioned a SummerSlam match for the Intercontinental Title against Ryback and The Miz. That was the match that was supposed to happen at Battleground, so it looks like WWE will do it at SummerSlam assuming Ryback can wrestle in less than three weeks. Roman Reigns beat Rusev, who had Summer Rae with him. Lana showed up during the match to prevent Summer Rae from interfering. Reigns ended up winning clean with a Spear. After the match, Bray Wyatt accepted Reigns' challenge from earlier in the show, so Reigns/Ambrose vs. Wyatt/Harper is on at SummerSlam. That's how Smackdown ended. When the taping was over, Reigns and Wyatt had a brawl using kendo sticks. Reigns got the advantage, which is a typical ending to send the crowd home happy.
