Huge news coming out of WWE today, as Roman Reigns (Joe Anoa`i) has been suspended for 30 days.

WWE.com broke the story stating that the recent World Heavyweight Champion, and one of their top stars, failed one of their Wellness Policy tests.

Roman has owned up to the situation with a brief statement on Twitter:

“I apologize to my family, friends and fans for my mistake in violating WWE’s wellness policy,” Reigns tweeted. "No excuses. I own it."

This is a huge blow to Roman's career, and drastically changes up WWE storylines for the foreseeable future. As of now, Roman is booked for the upcoming Battleground main event on July 24th. That event takes place after his 30-day suspension ends, but it’s hard to believe the company would still reward him with that coveted spot.

If nothing else, the fan reaction is likely to be even more brutal than ever for the star when he returns. It will also be fascinating to see how the company handles this on television.

This should also help clear up some of the suspicion on the integrity of the Wellness Policy test. While some big names like Randy Orton, and Rey Mysterio have been busted in the past, no one in such a high-profile position as Roman has been caught so far.

Stay tuned for more breaking news on this big, developing situation.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
