2019 has been an incredibly chaotic year for professional wrestling, with barely a week passing without a major news story breaking, leaving the landscape looking drastically different compared to a year ago.

Now, it looks like even more upheaval is on the way this week.

The Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online's Bryan Alvarez reported over the weekend that WWE have a major, major story to break over the next few days, and it might even be as big as NXT's new TV deal with the USA Network.

"I don't know what the news is," Alvarez said, "I know that something happened within WWE yesterday (Friday) that the people who do know what it is were expecting to get out, but it didn't. The feeling is that it'll probably get out sometime next week."

Alvarez adds that those who know the situation consider it a "very big story," and that "something absolutely happened" to trigger it.

This could mean anything from a major wrestler signing to the acquisition of another wrestling promotion, or perhaps roll-out of the now-confirmed tiered WWE Network subscription service (and the perks that come with them). Whatever the case, we'll bring you more as the situation develops.
