WWE Told Daniel Bryan To Stop Talking About The Environment

He told them to stop making him t-shirts out of "inorganic materials". Touché...

Daniel Bryan

There's a reason why Daniel Bryan doesn't come to the ring wearing some flashy new WWE t-shirt.

Bryan told MySanAntonio.com that he's at a bit of a crossroads with merch, but also said demands aren't one-sided. If Daniel is going to wear WWE shirts again, then he wants them to made out of organic materials that don't damage the environment.

The word environment is so important to Bryan's recent story in the company. It's a word WWE used when asking their wrestler to stop talking about "political issues". Dan fired back by saying the planet isn't a "political issue", it's a scientific one, and claimed he's spreading a positive message by including environmentalism in promos.

WWE weren't so convinced, and they wanted the "Planet's Champion" (a term they themselves used when marketing the ex-WWE Champ and his eco-friendly title) to quit dragging up topics that might not suit the standard wrestling heel.

Bryan says he won't accept the manufacture of another t-shirt until his employers meet certain criteria. He doesn't want to feel guilty for raking in cash from items that could damage the planet, and he's not obsessed with making money from the things at all.

Has there ever been a wrestler like Daniel Bryan?
