Kevin Owens has shed light on conversations he has had with WWE higher-ups over potentially returning to NXT someday.

Speaking to Brent Brookhouse of CBS Sports, KO stated that he sometimes talks about the matter with Triple H, saying "it's about timing," and has even brought it to Vince McMahon, adding that he was excited about the possibility but didn't know if it would have been a long or short term thing.

"I have been vocal about wanting to go back there as I'd love to help make NXT grow even more and help make it as big as it can be, so that we have three brands people know about," Owens said. "I would love for people to be just as aware of NXT as they are about Raw and SmackDown."

KO went on, reasserting that he'd "love to go back." He added, however, that he "just wants to go where I'm needed and try to make a difference," regardless of which brand that may be.

Owens broke into the WWE system through NXT in 2014, graduating to the main roster the following year. He returned to the black-and-gold brand for a crowd-popping surprise appearance at TakeOver: WarGames last November.
