We love Black Panther, but there's NO WAY he could ever beat Silver Surfer.

There's a lot to love in the world of superheroes. The banter, the creative action, and the camaraderie between teammates have endlessly entertained readers for decades.

But, if we had to be real for a second, the thing that fans look forward to more than anything is the battles. When you're reading a comic, there are few things more satisfying than watching the likes of Batman or Wolverine beating the hell out of their arch-enemies.

In fact, many of the most iconic moments in superhero stories centre around an epic brawl. Superman vs Doomsday. Captain America vs Iron Man. Thanos vs Squirrel Girl. After all these years, we're still talking about the impact these defining fights had on us.

That's why its so disappointing when a battle is hyped like crazy, only to conclude anticlimactically. There are all sorts of reasons why a bout doesn't live up to expectations. Maybe the art wasn't great. Perhaps the confrontation was dragged out too long. Or it's possible the fight wasn't good because... it didn't make any sense.

Although there are many great scraps in comics, this lot are definitely not among them.

10. Batman Vs Hush - Batman: Gotham Knights #74 (2006)

In 2000, DC launched a new series called Batman: Gotham Knights, which originally focused on The Bat Family. But when AJ Lieberman and Al Barrionuevo took over the series, the storylines delved more into the origins of Gotham's biggest supervillains including Poison Ivy, Bane, the Riddler, and even the Joker.

But while the Dark Knight battled his rogues gallery, there was one baddie who always seemed to take centre stage - Hush. No matter who Batman fought or what crime he investigated, Hush always seemed to be in the middle of it all, taunting the Caped Crusader. Because Bats squared off against the bandaged criminal more than anyone, readers assumed Gotham Knights would conclude with the pair facing off in a sensational showdown.

Sadly, Gotham Knights was abruptly cancelled alongside many other series to coincide with the conclusion of Infinite Crisis. In the final issue, Batman left Hush at the mercy of the Joker with a The End? teaser. What's worse is we didn't see Hush again until the Heart of Hush saga three years and the events in this storyline were barely acknowledged.
