10 Most Ridiculous Things The Hulk Has Survived

There are very few rules that govern the Marvel universe, what with it being so riddled with retcons and editorial shenanigans making the universe so much more complicated than it needed to be. But if there is one thing that has never not been true about the Marvel universe, it is this: never, ever, mess with The Incredible Hulk.
The Incredible Hulk's whole deal at a baseline level - big powerful guy who smashes stuff - is grounds enough to not be messed with. But when you actually start digging into his lore and the various other powers he's developed over the years, it becomes even more apparent than anyone who thinks they can survive going toe to toe with him is a level of stupid one could be forgiven for believing we just didn't make anymore.
However, that is not the case, and a lot of people have tried taking out The Hulk. Some have even come damn close to putting the jade giant out to pasture. But of course, none have succeeded, despite very creative ways of making an attempt.
Without further ado, here are the ten more brutal, creative, or just downright wacky things The Hulk has survived.
10. Being Poisoned - Incredible Hulk #364
Fighting The Hulk one-on-one is, as we have established, not what one would describe as "intelligent". But maybe we're thinking about this all wrong. After all, if you can't smash through a wall, why not just pump it with enough chemicals to the point where it just melts?
That was the thinking of one Hulk villain when they decided that the best way to handle the jade giant was to poison him and let him die that way.
A new villain named The Madman, knowing full well that if he and The Hulk were to come to blows, he would come up short, decides to poison The Hulk instead. However, instead of the poison triggering the transformation into classic green Hulk, Bruce instead turns into the grey Mr. Fixit.
This helps Bruce survive long enough to find a cure, since the poison spreads faster the angrier The Hulk becomes, but Fixit isn't nearly as powered by anger as his green brother is, on top of him being way smarter than green Hulk.
