They don't call him the god of mischief for nothing.

Thor has a lot of enemies, but none are worse than his brother Loki.

Loki is the son of Laufey, king of the frost giants. When Odin killed Laufey, he took in the infant Loki out of pity and raised him as a son. However, Loki always felt that he was second best to his brother Thor and grew up twisted. Even from a young age, Loki tried to find a way to destroy his sibling and take the throne of Asgard for himself.

Loki has been a thorn in the God of Thunder's side since his very earliest appearances. The power of Mjolnir means he rarely ever tries to take Thor head-on though. Instead, Loki prefers to use his magic and his natural cunning to get one over on his brother and this has lead to some pretty devious plans over the years.

Loki has happily lied, stolen and killed to further his goals and the results speak for themselves. From sending others to do his dirty work to using his own magic to put the God of Thunder through the wringer, Loki has been a pretty bad guy to his brother over the years...

10. He Killed Kid Loki

One of Loki's few moments of heroism was when he sacrificed himself to stop the Sentry from killing the Avengers. One of his most evil moments though was when he sacrificed himself again.

A less noble reason for Loki's sacrifice was that it allowed him to enact a plan to be reincarnated with no knowledge of his past evil deeds (a.k.a. the rest of this list). It worked and he was reborn as the innocent Kid Loki, a completely new person.

However, that wasn't the end of his plan. Loki's old personality survived as the raven Ikol. Ikol then manipulated Loki into helping Thor return from the the afterlife (he had died fighting the Midgard Serpent). Kid Loki succeeded, but in the process bound his life to an artefact that would one day allow Mephisto to conquer the universe.

This was all part of the old Loki's plan and he revealed that the only way for Kid Loki to destroy the artefact was to allow him to take back his body. Kid Loki agreed and was completely wiped out, replaced by his older evil self.

Thor had loved Kid Loki and seen him as a chance to finally have the kind of relationship with his brother he had always wanted. When he found out what had happened, he was heartbroken.
