How amazing would it be if George R.R. Martin wrote Doctor Strange, whose powers and background has all to do with magic, an aspect which George is all too familiar with.

This was the answer that was received when MTV asked what Marvel characters he would like to write.
€œBefore I would ever do that, I would have to have my lawyers to meet with Marvel€™s lawyers and work out an absolutely iron-clad contract that would say whatever I did in the story would continue to be canon forever, and would never be retconned, rebooted or reimagined out of the universe when some later writer decided to mess around with it,€.
He went on discussing how he hated the canon of comic book characters being rebooted in all manner of aspects to which I quote
"That's the one thing I don't like about comics".
As to how he would approach the character, he didn't go into too much detail, but did say he would ostracize him from the rest of the Marvel characters, emphasizing that the threats he deals in is something none of his major non-magical allies could comprehend. It would seem that he would like to take Doctor Strange along the lines of Chris Nolan's Batman, by making no mention of characters who are irrelevant to Doctor Strange's universe. But because of the nature of on-going comic series, negotiating a contract within his parameters would be impossible to do. The only way he would most likely get his self-contained universe is if they made it into a mini-series. So what do you think, would you like to see George R.R Martin scribe the Sorcerer Supreme, leave your comments below.
