10 Actors With The Most Movie Deaths
A lifetime of dying over, and over, and over again.
Movies don't really let actors have an easy time when it comes to bringing their stories to life. In fact, rather ironically - they're almost always all about death instead. Passing away has become part and parcel of being an actor, meaning you're going to have to do your best impression of being brown bread at some point in your career if you've got any hopes of making it.
Whether it's bullet-ridden bodies in action movies, drawn out and torturous violence in horror, or just straight up, heart-breaking 'natural causes' in a drama: audiences love the Grim Reaper to stick his scythe in to spice things up in their films. And let's be real, he's got to have a favourite, since some actors have made it part of their brand to consistently get cut down in the name of their craft.
So let's take a look at the actors who made it a competition to see how many times they could end up sleeping with the fishes then, and who really can take the cark-it crown for dying the most. In this case, we'll be looking specifically at the deaths that happen on-screen.
And If you already 'know' it's going to be Sean Bean at number one, then think again: there's another king in town...
10. Mickey Rourke - 22 Fatalities
Originally a boxer who turned to acting by chance, Mickey Rourke has been in plenty of movies over his 40 years in the film industry, clocking in at a whopping 77 titles that have featured his imposing frame and iconic performances, many of which have inspired other famous names in the process.
Turns out being big and bad isn't protection from getting well and thoroughly whacked, however, since Rourke has died 22 times on screen - shooting his fatality average to over 1 in 4 of his movies featuring some sort of gruesome death.
Getting his soul reclaimed by Robert De Niro - aka the devil himself - in Angelheart, getting blown to smithereens by his own volition in Iron Man 2, and suffering from a heart attack in the acclaimed Aronofsky film The Wrestler are just a few of his memorable walks down Death Valley in the years since his debut.
Mostly, he just gets shot to death though. Seems a much safer way of taking down a man trained in how to beat the sh*t out of you though, in fairness...
