10 Best Movie Lockdowns

How does Hollywood handle self-isolation?

With most people shut inside watching movies, what better way to pass the time than watching movies about people shut inside? If we have to put up with it, why shouldn't Jodie Foster? Or Will Smith?

Maybe we can even learn a little something along the way... Can Macaulay Culkin show us the best way to maintain social distancing? Can John Goodman teach us how to prep sensibly without hoarding? Perhaps Hollywood veteran Jack Nicholson can demonstrate how to keep calm and occupied in isolation?

(SPOILER: No, they can't.... But they can at least keep us entertained.)

10. I Am Legend

Will Smith gives a textbook example of social distancing in the 2007 movie I Am Legend, limiting his trips outside to only the most essential activities such as dog-walking and kidnapping feral, infected, zombie-like creatures to drag back to his home and experiment on.

Of course, it's easy for him keep away from other people when almost everyone else is dead... When other survivors do arrive, his problems really begin and the movie also loses its way a little, leading to a climax which disappointed many fans by diverging from the much starker and more coherent ending of the original book.

Howver, with its gorgeous vision of a deserted New York being reclaimed by nature, and a solid turn from Smith, this one is well worth a watch to while away your own isolation.
