It's a wonderful time to be a comic book fan. It seems like barely a day goes by without a superhero lighting up the silver screen in some way, shape or form. The genre, as a whole, has had its fair share of ups and downs, but it certainly appears as though we're currently enjoying something of a golden era for comic book movies. The success of the Batman, Spider-Man and X-Men franchises has led to increased confidence from the studios and, in turn, lesser-known characters have begun to appear onscreen. Instead of patiently waiting for one big comic book movie to be released, I'm often trying to decide which superhero is the most worthy of my hard-earned pennies, given the amount of choice we have nowadays. It's become clear to the studios that there is a lot of money to be made from comic book movies, you see. What wasn't so clear? The fan scrutiny that was going to be levelled at every aspect of production, including casting decisions, costume designs, movie titles, and directional choices. It's fair to say that comic book fans are not the easiest to please, and they always want it their way. With all the expectation surrounding a comic book release nowadays, it is understandable when the filmmakers make a dubious decision here and there. And so, what follows is a list of the 10 Biggest Missteps In Comic Book Movies. Rather than simply being a list of the 10 Worst Comic Book Movies, these are key moments or decisions which, whilst not ruining the movies mentioned entirely, had a detrimental effect on the overall experience...
