10 Great Horror Movies You Can't Stream Anywhere

Not coming soon to a streaming service near you.

As of 2023, the notion of a film that can't be streamed online anywhere seems as laughable as Blockbuster Video making a triumphant comeback.

While Netflix remains the golden standard for digital streaming, Amazon Prime, Disney+ and even the likes of Hulu have all thrown their hat into the mix. With the plethora of streaming services to choose from in this day and age, the chances are exceedingly high that the picture in question can be found on one service or another.

This is particularly true in the case of horror, with entire platforms in the vein of Shudder and Screambox dedicated solely to the genre. As such, there's a unique aura of mystique associated with the rarer horror offerings that literally can't be found anywhere to watch online.

This would be less significant to the average fright fan if all of the names in question were terrible films. However, the inherent quality displayed by the inhabitants of this list makes it very clear that there are some spectacular movies that audiences will have to dust off their DVD players in order to experience.

10. Lemora: A Child's Tale Of The Supernatural (1973)

Lemora: A Child's Tale of the Supernatural falls firmly into the "so bad that it's actually amazing" category of cinematic outings.

The 1973 horror combines vampiric folklore with a contemporary story set during the Prohibition era in the United States. Lila - the daughter of an affluent mafioso - soon becomes the latest target of Lemora. An ancient vampire, Lemora feeds upon young children that she abducts and sequesters in her home.

This preposterous combination of contrasting narrative threads should already be setting the alarm bells ringing for anybody in search of a masterful horror film. It comes as somewhat of a shock that Lemora is actually a riveting watch! Featuring some legitimately unnerving sequences and a gloriously creepy atmosphere, A Child's Tale of the Supernatural is held together by a pair of excellent performances from Cheryl Smith and Lesley Taplin as Lila and Lemora, respectively.

As of 2023, the movie isn't currently available on any major streaming services, and Lemora hasn't even been remastered for Blu-ray as of the time of writing. While a full version of the film can be found on The Mysterious Domain YouTube channel, it ironically still isn't available under the platform's usual pay-to-stream model.
