A remake of the 1952 original film which was adapted from the Oscar Wilde play 'The Importance of being Ernest, A Trivial Comedy for Serious People' is a period drama romantic comedy starring Colin Firth as Jack Worthing, Reese Witherspoon as Cecily Cardew and Rupert Everett as Algy Moncrieff. The story takes place in 19th century London, where the two friends Jack and Algy both use the pseudo name Ernest when conducting business or taking trips secretly and their lies become entwined, with hilarious results.
