Throughout the MCU, Captain America has always been there as the voice of reason. Even when everything on screen is at its most grim, you can't count on things turning out alright as long as we have our star-spangled boy in tights on the screen.

For as fun as it is watching Cap wailing on Nazis, aliens, and everything in between, there are a lot of moments that can get a lot more serious for the Patriotic Avenger.

Out of all the standalone Marvel franchises, Cap's entries have always had the most heart, with every film centered around the desire to stand up against those who want to oppress the little guy. Aside from his own films, his proper outings in Avengers films also give us a glimpse into how Cap works when playing off of his team, which sees him taking on the role as leader, motivator, and occasional grandpa if the audience needs a laugh.

He may have a lot of different faces throughout his tenure, but every one of these moments are just more reasons why we loved seeing Cap whenever he was onscreen. Here are just a handful of moments that show Cap at his emotional, badass, and emotionally badass.

10. Queens...Brooklyn - Civil War

Much has been said about how Captain America: Civil War feels more like a lesser Avengers movie than an entry in Steve Rogers' saga. For as much as Steve is the main focus of the film, he more or less shares an equal role as Iron Man as the story's main focus. Though the draw was always these characters internal conflicts, a lot of ears perked when we got a certain web-slinger involved.

He may be only onscreen for a few minutes, but Tom Holland's Spider-Man ends up gifting us one of the best Captain America exchanges during the airport fight. While Peter Parker is still just a lowly kid, Cap doesn't hold too much back, leaving Parker to really show his skills as a superhero. Cap clearly outmatches Peter, but just when he seems defenseless, Steve offers a more plain spoken moment with the kid.

After seeing him hold his own, Steve remarks "You've got heart kid, where ya from?." After Parker's uncomfortable answer of "Queens," you can see a little twinkle in Cap's eyes as he responds "Brooklyn," almost as if his hardened New Yorker attitude approves of this new recruit to the Avengers.

Civil War may have had a bittersweet ending in the grand scheme of things, but this little bit of levity offers a little glimpse at the good-natured Cap we all remembered from the start of the MCU.
