Water. It makes up 70% of our body. 71% of the earth's surface is covered in water. It's the main ingredient in beer. Water is clearly an important part of our day-to-day lives. But it can also be dangerous. One can drown in it. The dark depths of the world's oceans are filled with hazardous and inscrutable beasts the likes of which land-lubbers can't even dare imagine. It can be used to turn food-dust into the kind of meal you subsist on for four years during college. 10. The Bog - Winter's Bone (2010)

Just one Hunger Games tribute ago, Jennifer Lawrence was an unknown actress starring in the small 2010 film Winter's Bone. This movie, fairly described as Ozark Noir, depicts Lawrence as the young Ree Dolly. Ree has essentially taken the reins of the matriarch role of her family as her father has been imprisoned for cooking meth and her mother is a bad case of the hiccups away from being thrown in the looney bin.

Ree's father, Jessup, is out on bail but has gone missing. She's informed that if he is absent for his court hearing, the Dolly's will lose the house which Jessup put up as his bond. Ree, knowing her father must be dead as he would never simply run away, goes on a manhunt for his body with her uncle Teardrop in order to secure their home. Winter's Bone, which won the Grand Jury Prize for Best Dramatic Film, follows Ree as she attempts to make contact with the local drug kingpin Milton. Ree persists, despite agonizing beatings by Milton's army of brutal women. Later, these same women offer to take Ree to find her father's body, which has been disposed of in a nearby pond. Leaning over into the boggy water, Ree saws off the arm of the submerged body, proving her father's murder but protecting their home from being taken away. It's an important lesson about the dangers of gainful employment.
