Having seen Man of Steel, I can clarify that its good. Really, really good. Its epic enough, the plot works, the fight scenes are spectacular and theres enough light and shade to not overwhelm you with non-stop explosions, but still not bore you by focusing on what Clark had for breakfast. Overall, an excellent summer blockbuster and one I would happily see again in a heartbeat. Well done, Man of Steel. But still, as I left the multiplex something was bugging me yes, the film was excellent, but at multiple points the characters made pant-soiling ridiculous decisions. Not just bad decisions, but the sort of decisions that would have people question your competency. So I thought Id write about them. Please understand, I know most of these questions can be answered with material taken from the comic-book universe. But really, thats not the point not everyone who bought a ticket at Man of Steels super-successful opening weekend had an exhaustive knowledge of Superman lore. Most people just like Superman, and want to be entertained throughout the run-time. To those people, the actions of certain characters might leave them baffled, to say the least. Before I begin, Ive got to point out that a massive, honking SPOILER WARNING is in effect. If you havent seen Man of Steel, then dont read this. Im going to pretty much spoil everything about it, so if you really want the sense of wonderment associated with watching a Superman film for the first time, I suggest you look away now. Seriously dude, now.
