10 Idiotic Decisions Made By Characters In Man of Steel

By Edward Owen /

Having seen Man of Steel, I can clarify that it€™s good. Really, really good. It€™s epic enough, the plot works, the fight scenes are spectacular and there€™s enough light and shade to not overwhelm you with non-stop explosions, but still not bore you by focusing on what Clark had for breakfast. Overall, an excellent summer blockbuster and one I would happily see again in a heartbeat. Well done, Man of Steel. But still, as I left the multiplex something was bugging me €“ yes, the film was excellent, but at multiple points the characters made pant-soiling ridiculous decisions. Not just bad decisions, but the sort of decisions that would have people question your competency. So I thought I€™d write about them. Please understand, I know most of these questions can be answered with material taken from the comic-book universe. But really, that€™s not the point €“ not everyone who bought a ticket at Man of Steel€™s super-successful opening weekend had an exhaustive knowledge of Superman lore. Most people just like Superman, and want to be entertained throughout the run-time. To those people, the actions of certain characters might leave them baffled, to say the least. Before I begin, I€™ve got to point out that a massive, honking SPOILER WARNING is in effect. If you haven€™t seen Man of Steel, then don€™t read this. I€™m going to pretty much spoil everything about it, so if you really want the sense of wonderment associated with watching a Superman film for the first time, I suggest you look away now. Seriously dude, now.
