Murderers have populated the breadth and width of cinema for as long as it€™s been a medium. They have shot, stabbed, strangled and suffocated their way into infamy, and all because we as a society apparently love to watch people die. Of course, the reason for this comes down to one of the fundamental necessities of storytelling €“ conflict. The more conflict you have, the more the audience will invest in the struggle €“ resulting in a great deal more satisfaction when the (hopefully) inevitable resolution occurs. Now, what€™s more conflicting than a helpless everyday guy unwittingly thrown into a deadly situation orchestrated by a mad man who considers himself a creative genius€? €Anyone? No? Okay, we€™ll tell you what €“ nothing! Life and death €“ that€™s conflict for you right there! As we€™ve already established moviegoers everywhere seem enthralled by watching murderous plots unfold upon the silver screen. But every once in a while we€™re delightfully treated to something a little more cunningly complex when it comes to homicidal sprees. Let€™s take a look at 10 creative murderers that didn€™t stick to the tried and tested "hack €˜n€™ slash" tradition when it came to butchering their victims, but opted for something much more elaborate. Oh, and it's safe to say there are quite a few spoilers ahead.
