Let's be honest: both of the past attempts at Spider-Man franchises ended disappointingly but, on the whole, Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy was great and The Amazing Spider-Man movies weren't really that bad at all. Neither killed the character's draw with audiences, that much is certain, and neither was enough to dissuade Marvel from working with Sony to bring the wall crawler to the MCU. Each attempt gave us some great moments and some fantastic characters from Spider-Man's comic book history. Both actors in the lead roles - Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, respectively - were superb in their own way and the villains were generally brilliant (not surprisingly, when you consider that the Webbed Wonder has one of the richest rogues galleries in comic books). But which of those characters were the most powerful in the five movies to date?
Honourable Mention: Rhino (The Amazing Spider-Man 2)
Given his distinct lack of meaningful screen time in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (he was, of course, meant to re-emerge in future movies, had the franchise continued), Paul Giamatti's Rhino is very hard to gauge in terms of power. He does, however, deserve an honourable mention, because in his short appearance audiences did get a decent idea of what he might be capable of. His armour obviously provided a lot of protection - he was extremely durable - and it definitely gave him a decent level of super-strength. It also contained a lot of automatic weaponry. It wasn't very agile, however, and that might have proven detrimental in a fight against Spider-Man. Now, on to the actual list...
