It is well known now that Netflix want to create a household name franchise, essentially they want their own version of a The Lord of the Rings, MCU, Star Wars type property. The current method they seem to be employing to achieve this is to adapt franchises that have a fan base and plenty of potential.

Despite the awful pre-existing real-life versions of this series that released in 2015, there is still a tonne of potential in the property. There was a time when you could not escape the overbearing presence that Attack on Titan had on popular culture, as even those who had never seen Anime before were talking about it.

The premise of the story is simple but utterly massive in scale, and this makes it not only easy to follow but quickly marketable as a film that anyone who likes thrilling action can enjoy. It tells of a world that is plagued by giant man-eating beasts known as Titans and follows our tritagonists Eren, Mikasa and Armin as they fight back against these foes.

While a live-action adaptation would undoubtedly be a challenge, there is a heap of reward that could be received from investing in such a risk.
