10 Times MCU Characters Seriously Messed Up
Always go for the head Thor!
After more than 20 movies in total in the Marvel Cinematic Universe it should come as no surprise that some major plot points have come from the mistakes our own heroes have made along the way.
From making a robot adamant on destroying the world to not aiming for the Mad Titan Thanos' head, each character has had their own hiccups in saving as many lives as possible, clouded by their emotions and lack of self control in the heat of battle.
These heroes have in turn caused some catastrophic changes in the plot which could have been avoided by simply making a better decision.
Ignoring that these are all movies and that moving on the plot is best for the writing and tension of the narrative, this article breaks down the worst mistakes ever made in the entire franchise and what, in turn, this cost our favourite Avengers and the people around them.
10. Tony Calling Terrorists To His Home - Iron Man 3
Tony Stark has made some of the biggest mistakes during his time as Iron Man, which is no surprise given he's one of the most ego filled celebrities within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He's known for his Stark tech company and his famous Iron Man alter-ego but, after revealing his identity at the end of his first film, surely he would have learned to keep his mouth shut?
The answer is a strong no - it's Stark, what do you expect? After the events of Avengers in 2012 left Tony with severe PTSD, Mr Stark led his lifestyle differently in front of the media as they tried to provoke him at every move. The new threat of the terrorist organisation organised by The Mandarin in Iron Man 3 left Stark with no option but to face the public eye and give a statement of his own, in which he thought it wise to reveal his home address.
Things did not end well for Tony as the target became his own Malibu estate as he fought to keep Pepper, his home and his inventions from being destroyed.
Tony was out for blood after The Mandarin injured Happy, but this was probably not the best way to go about it.
