10 Typecast Actors That Proved Everyone Wrong

Don't ever use the term one-trick pony again.

Unlike a vast majority of the public who always go around telling anyone who will listen that they hate their job, you have to assume that actors love their jobs. Fame, fortune and adoration are heaped on actors by the bucket-load by today's population, and some are so famous that they're known the world over for what they do. Just like with everyday careers though, not everyone is equal: there are some stars that just shine brighter than others. While many famous faces choose quite happily to rest on their laurels and play the same roles over and over, there are some that aren't content with the same old same old. This article aims to shed some light on ten actors that were - quite rightly - typecast but managed to change public perception of their careers; branching out into territories they were unfamiliar with. Some pay off, others don't, and while there's nothing wrong with playing the same type of role frequently (if you're good at it), there are always actors that you probably think could perform extremely well in certain genres that they're not particularly known for. From Jennifer Aniston trying to distance herself from the chick flick to Jim Carrey wanting to prove that he's capable of much more than comedy - this list will hopefully broaden your horizons when trying to find films that break the mold, so to speak.
