Comic book movies have never been better. These days, Marvel Studios is absolutely crushing it with not just several franchises, but franchises that are all linked together. They're dominating the box office at the moment with several movies a year, all contributing to a massive universe, and they've even got an eye on the small screen. Marvel's Agents of SHIELD seems to build more and more connections with the movies with each subsequent episode, and they've got four series planned for release on Netflix featuring some of the street-level characters. It's not just Marvel Studios, either. Sony's Amazing Spider-Man was a great reboot, with the sequel looking just as good, and Fox's X-Men: Days of Future Past will be followed by X-Men: Apocalypse and another Wolverine film. DC's Batman vs. Superman film is looking more and more like a backdoor Justice League movie, and the Flash will soon join Green Arrow on television. Then there's the continued success of The Walking Dead. For comic book fans, it's a good time. No longer are these movies viewed as nothing more than overblown toy commercials like they were in the mid-to-late 90s, or as something that should be viciously tampered with to the point that it becomes unrecognizable.
