No matter how compelling the idea that Marvel Studios churn out movies like some sort of unblemished, infallible factory of perfection, it's actually pretty difficult to make a comic book movie. If the sprawling graveyard of projects that never got off the ground or were unceremoniously cancelled partway through production wasn't proof enough for you, just look at what Jon Favreau had to go through to even get Robert Downey Jr cast as Tony Stark.

Because of the pressures of delivering a blockbuster movie, there have been some fairly high profile feuds on the sets of comic book movies - and not just those made by Marvel. And there's very much a reason why some actors like Idris Elba, George Clooney and Josh Brolin have spoken publicly about hating working on certain productions. The most recent feud that's come to light is courtesy of the... let's say troubled production of X-Men: Dark Phoenix, whose road to the big screen has been less than ideal. But putting aside the issues of delays and Disney buying the X-Men rights from under Fox as they prepared to release it (somewhat undermining their marketing), one of the film's stars reports that she had an even more specific issue on set.

Though she stops short of naming the actor in question, Sophier Turner spoke to Glamour about having difficulty standing up for herself and revealed that a male co-star on Dark Phoenix "walked off set" disrespectfully when it was her time to say her lines. A writer stood in for him, which led to Jessica Chastain telling Turner to stand up for herself:

“I actually have a really big problem with not being able to stand up for myself. Especially if I’m arguing against a man. Jessica Chastain is the one that said it to me, ‘You need to stand up for yourself more! She [Jessica] said, ‘Just go and talk to him, go and say something to him!’ I’m a bit of a shy, pushover person, but I’m getting there, I’m working on it.”
