Every actor desires that moment in the spotlight where they can really show off their craft, delivering a performance which is intense, engaging, enrapturing and one which thoroughly immerses the audience into the essence of the character they're playing. Sometimes these moments are quiet and reflective, or loaded with tension beneath whispered words. At other times they're explosive and dynamic, with the actor fully embodying the passion of the moment. It's a rarity for an actor to come along who can pull this off as well as cinema's greatest stars, but when they do it's a reminder of the magic of movies. Sometimes, however, it's far more fun to see an actor throwing themselves into a good old rant, hurling expletives left, right and centre as they rage away, flecks of spittle flying towards the screen with each word. It might not be as sophisticated or nuanced as a Shakespearian soliloquy but it's often far more entertaining. The following list takes a look at 11 of the most outrageously sweary rants in movie history (which, given how prudish the censors were for so many years admittedly doesn't cover its entirity).
Just remember to watch the clips with headphones if you're reading this in the office.
