Wonder Woman may still be more than six months away from release, but given how much is riding on it after an abysmal 2016 for the DCEU, it's understandable that fans are frothing at the mouth to have their burning questions answered as soon as possible.

Even with two trailers out in the wild, there's still a lot to be answered for regarding the movie's villain(s), the time period, Patty Jenkins' direction, several currently unconfirmed roles, and how the movie will play into the overall DCEU picture.

Thankfully going by a mixture of the source material, cast and crew comments and some good 'ol fashioned conjecture, we're able to at least hazard a pretty good guess at how these aspects of the movie will turn out.

Here are 11 questions we still have about Wonder Woman...

11. Who Is The Main Villain?

The Question: It's pretty clear from the recent trailer that Danny Huston will be playing the main villain, a currently unnamed German general, but considering that he can be seen standing toe-to-toe with Wonder Woman, it's clear he's not really human. Who is he, exactly?

The Likely Answer: The evidence points pretty strongly to Ares, the Greek God of war, having disguised himself as a soldier yet possessing superhuman powers making him capable of taking on Diana.

Expect Huston to play the character pretty straight and subdued for two-thirds of the movie, before his powers (strength, speed and supreme strategic intellect) are revealed, leading to the inevitable final showdown.
