12 Best Comic Book Movie Trailers Ever

We're living in an era dominated by comic book movies, which means that we're also - inevitably - living in an era dominated by comic book movie trailers.

Sometimes, it seems that you can't go more than a week without a new trailer or TV spot for the latest big screen superhero outing, with 2016 alone bringing numerous trailers and teasers for Deadpool, Captain America: Civil War, Suicide Squad, Justice League, Doctor Strange, and way too much of Batman v Superman.

When done well, they can build insane hype for a movie, setting up conflict and characters without giving too much away. When done badly, they'll offer little to get excited about, and often spoil way too much of the action. Going back to Batman v Superman, it showed how not to do a trailer (the Doomsday one was a mess), but also how to do a great one (the last proper trailer).

Over the years we've had comic book movies good and bad, and that means a hell of a lot of trailers, with the releases of them often being events themselves. And even if the subsequent movie was terrible, the trailer at least did the job of getting people to go see it. These are the trailers we deserved, and the ones we needed back then.
