All it takes is one role. One minute you're a humble non-working actor, going from audition to audition and panhandling for money to pay for gym memberships, and then... it happens. You manage to successfully nab that part that takes the world by storm, and suddenly you're there. Your name is up in lights (or simple magnetic black letters in these trying times), and your breasts are plastered on billboards all over the city. It gets to the point where you can hardly turn on the TV without hearing a new story about your sexual preferences. Jennifer Lawrence had The Hunger Games, Michael Fassbender had Inglourious Basterds, and Al Pacino had lots and lots of cocaine. Here are 13 actors who are right on the brink of success, but are yet to experience that big moment which allows them to have thriving Hollywood careers for years to come...
12. Armie Hammer
Two years ago, I would have told you that this guy was going to be the next handsome leading man guy. The actor that your girlfriend loves so much that it makes you hate him with an unbridled rage normally reserved for rumors that Ben Affleck has been cast as Batman. But now, after The Lone Ranger crashed and burned like that train in the trailer for The Lone Ranger, I'm not so sure. The guy could seriously use some saving. But Hammer is still around. Still on the edge of becoming someone who does rom-coms with Amanda Seyfried, perhaps. His performance as the Winklevoss twins in David Fincher's astounding The Social Network cannot be forever ignored, after all. His ship will come in. And that ship will most likely have Pirates of the Caribbean written all over it.
