Although Tony Stark is indeed inimitable and his Iron Man alter-ego formidable, you don't immediately think of him as "bad-ass" when putting together a list of words and terms to describe him. But don't be fooled - he really is. The man has some seriously giant-sized gonads, coming across as truly fearless at times, and is prepared to put his body (and indeed his life) on the line with or without his trademark armour. In his four major movie appearances to date (Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Iron Man 3 and The Avengers), Tony Stark has saved more people through bravery and sheer bad-assery than most - even outshining the real big guns like Hulk and Thor on occasions. While he does come across as cocky and narcissistic, there is absolutely no denying the fact that he is also perfectly capable of being very selfless and noble. In displaying all of the aforementioned characteristics, he has shown himself to be totally bad-ass on numerous occasions. In this article, we're going to take a look at just a baker's dozen of those examples. Here are thirteen moments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe when Tony Stark looked like a complete and utter bad-ass...
13. "Make A Move, Reindeer Games" (The Avengers)
When Loki first arrived on Earth, he gathered his forces and headed to Stuttgart in Germany. He did so to acquire iridium in order to stabilise the volatile Tesseract, so that he could use it to open a portal for the invading Chitauri army to enter Earth through. After killing a man and terrifying a large group of civilians, Loki was confronted by Captain America. The super soldier was outmatched, until the unmistakable sound of AC/DC started pounding out from above. It was Natasha Romanoff - the Black Widow - in an aircraft arriving for support. She wasn't alone. Out of nowhere, Tony Stark in his Iron Man armour arrived, blasted Loki with a repulsor blast and stood tall before announcing "make a move, reindeer games". To hell with the fact that this is his first encounter with a demigod - Tony Stark doesn't care because he's bad-ass.
