2018 has been a pretty good, if not entirely great, year at the movies. It hasn't quite managed to hit the highs of the one before it, but there have still been some cinematic delights, as well as plenty of films notable for all the wrong reasons.

It's included some major surprises, from unexpected hits to films that seemed destined to land ultimately falling flat, and one of the biggest movies of all time.

With new entries into old franchises, sequels, reboots, reimaginings, and even the odd original idea here and there, it's been a year where most of the biggest movies have been setting things up for the future, rather than simply being about the here and now. In turn, that's meant we've been left with a number of burning questions we need answers to, whether that's in the next movie, a tie-in comic, or perhaps just left to our imaginations.

15. Will X-Force Be Next? - Deadpool 2

Fox

Deadpool 2 accomplishes a lot of things, but one of the biggest is briefly assembling the X-Force, including Domino (Zazie Beetz), Bedlam (Terry Crews), Shatterstar (Lewis Tan), Zeitgeist (Bill SkarsgÄrd), Vanisher (Brad Pitt!), and the powerless Peter (Rob Delaney).

It's an exciting team-up that, well, doesn't actually last very long at all, since all of them bar Domino and Deadpool himself die when jumping out of the plane. By the end of the film, though, there's a new line-up in place: the two aforementioned survivors, alongside Cable, Firefist, and Dopinda the Cabbie.

This is all setup for the X-Force film, but it's unclear if and when that's actually going to happen. Disney's takeover of Fox means just about anything on their slate beyond next year is up in the air, especially a project that hasn't entered production. Deadpool 2 gives us proper X-Force team (sort of), but are we actually going to see it in action?
