Most Oscar pundits had this year's ceremony pegged as a totally predictable one, so what a pleasant surprise it was to see so many bracket-busting results that skewed away from conventional wisdom and the Academy's typically milquetoast tastes.

Thanks to an unforgettable twist ending of a Best Picture win and some outrageous production gaffes during the rest of the show, this was certainly the weirdest and most compulsively watchable Oscar show in years.
