When you're looking at which films to watch, it's inevitable to turn to the critical consensus offered by Rotten Tomatoes as an easy reflection of how "good" a film objectively is. They might get SOME things wrong, but the community is still the best way to get as many opinions summed up in one place as possible.

And with so many movies released in 2018, the service is invaluable for working out which hidden gems and critically adored releases deserve to be explored or watched again.

There's time for a few late breakers, but for now, the top less-than-1% of movies from this year are an interesting bunch. These are the movies that socred 98% and above on Rotten Tomatoes (with at least a healthy number of reviews).

This Israeli-German film follows Thomas, a young German baker who is in the midst of an affair with Oren, an Israeli married man. When his lover is killed in a car crash in his own country, Thomas travels to Jerusalem in secret seeking answers about his death and successfully infiltrates the life of Anat, Oren's wife.

As he seeks to protect the truth, he ends up losing himself deeper and deeper to his lie.
