2007 really was a cool year for movies...

I don't think I've enjoyed a year in film as much as the last 12 months in God knows how long. If you were willing to go hunt for it, there was some astonishing works of film out there that carried a unique voice and really gave me hope for the smaller and more personal movies that people still feel inspired to make.

The only thing that let the year down was the over-hyped, crap-infested garbage that studio's turned out as tentpole releases this year but you all know which films pissed me off and I'm not going to repeat them for you now. So here's a cool video which I found over at Slash Film (which originated over at Hollywood Elsewhere) which thankfully forgets the studio blockbuster crap, and gives us a reminder of how good the dramatic flicks of the last year have been. It's a truly great video, the kind that those in charge of the Oscars of the Bafta's could never make because they aren't the film fans that we are. It's set to the truly inspirational music "Falling Slowly" by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova from the great movie ONCE, which features prominently in the video below. 2008 you have a lot to match up too...
