5 Villains Who Should Appear In The Amazing Spider-Man 3 & 4

By JG Moore /

When The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits cinemas next year, its villains will be Electro (played by Jamie Foxx) and Rhino (played by Paul Giamatti) making their big screen debut after countless encounters with Spider-Man in comics and TV programmes. This shows that the rebooted franchise isn't yet resorting to using villains featured in the Sam Raimi films, which is a good sign of what's in store for the film and its two sequels. The Spider-Man films have a history of handling their villains very well (apart from Spider-Man 3) so since The Amazing Spider-Man 3 & 4 have been confirmed by Sony and will soon be entering production with prospective release dates of 2016 and 2018, we€™ve taken a look at the Webslinger€™s gallery of rogues and chosen five villains who we think should be next to terrorise New York...

5. Shocker

Who Is He? Herman Schultz, an engineering genius who turned to crime after he was unable to find employment. He doesn€™t have any supernatural abilities but uses a pair of self-built gauntlets that fire high-frequency air blasts. Why Would He Make A Good Villain? Since he doesn€™t have any superpowers and he€™s just a bank robber rather than a mutated supervillain trying to take over the world, Shocker would probably work best as an entry level villain at the start of another Spider-Man reboot since he€™d be able to push Spider-Man€™s abilities to their limits while leaving room for him to improve. But he could still probably give a more experienced Spider-Man a run for his money. Plus he has no vendetta against Spider-Man and only acts against him when he tries to interfere in his criminal schemes. Which would be a good way to convey Peter Parker€™s role as the hero and show him actively fighting crime rather than him constantly dealing with threats to his own life. Despite him being one of the lesser Spider-Man villains, Shocker would still have the potential to be a decent opponent for Spider-Man since his skills are focused more on infiltration and sabotage rather than dealing massive amounts of damage. This would allow for scenes of them engaging in a battle of wits instead of a punch-up which isn't often seen when Spider-Man battles his enemies But because he doesn€™t quite have the villainous potential of somebody like Venom or the Green Goblin, he€™d probably do best as either a secondary villain like Sandman in Spider-Man 3, or as part of a larger group of enemies united against Spider-Man in a single cause or as subordinates of another villain such as Kingpin's Insidious Six group.
