Whilst many of us are satisfied to read about them and watch their adventures unfold on screen (and maybe even secretly pretend that you've got Professor X's powers sometimes, and try to move things with your mind when no one's looking - we won't tell anyone), there are those out there in the world of science that are striving to make those fictional super powers more of a reality.
