Warner Bros. The previous attempt at a Green Lantern movie was a disaster (well, at least as far as the critics were concerned). The movie did make a modest $19 million profit from its $200 million budget, but it was received terribly and the casting of Ryan Reynolds as strong-willed test pilot Hal Jordan was oh so very wrong. It was a huge disappointment to comic book fans around the world, after they had waited for years to see DC attempt a "big seven" movie that wasn't either Batman or Superman - but it did show hints of what a Green Lantern movie could potentially be like. The special effects of the constructs created by the Green Lanterns were quite spectacular at times. Jordan came up with such creations as a mini-gun, a race track, a giant fist and a pair of jet planes and they looked great - dazzling, in fact - but the quality of the movie as a whole just didn't match up. Jordan was likeable, it didn't take itself particularly seriously and Mark Strong portrayed a convincing Sinestro (while the late Michael Clarke Duncan voiced a perfect Kilowog), but it just wasn't very good. However, it will be rebooted. An as yet untitled Green Lantern/Flash team-up movie is scheduled for release in time for Christmas in 2017 - being made to be a part of the same universe as Henry Cavill's Superman and Ben Affleck's Batman - and success for that could mean another Green Lantern solo movie will be on the cards in the future. So who could the villain be in the event that it happens? We're going to take a look. Here are nine awesome villains for a potential new Green Lantern solo movie...
