9 Movie Spoilers We Didn’t Know Last Week (May 16th)
Tom Hardy pulls a Daniel Craig.
It's been a big spoiler week for both mammoth superhero universes and upcoming movies that can only dream of building a franchise sometime down the line.
The roadmap for the DC Extended Universe became a little clearer, we had one of our worst fears about an upcoming MCU movie cast aside, and Fox completed their marketing push for X-Men: Apocalypse with one spoilerific TV spot that gave away a potentially amazing moment.
To compensate for a fairly bland marketing campaign so far combined with mixed early reviews, Fox are likely going to start dropping spoilers left and right over the next few weeks ahead of the U.S. release.
And of course, though we didn't learn any shocking plot twists about Star Wars Episode VIII, we did discover which actor is getting the Daniel Craig treatment in the upcoming film.
Here are 9 movie spoilers we didn't know last week...
9. Darkseid & Steppenwolf Both Appear In Justice League: Part One
Word broke this past week that the first villain the Justice League will face won't be Darkseid (as hinted at in Batman V Superman), but rather Steppenwolf, a military leader from the planet Apokolips, who while not a flagship DC villain, has had various run-ins with the League in the comics. This confirms those suspicions that the figure who appeared before Lex Luthor in Batman V Superman's deleted scene was in fact the horned adversary.
But what about Darkseid? Though he won't appear significantly in Part One, the film will reportedly open with a flashback from 30,000 years ago, where Darkseid attempted to rule Earth but was defeated by a team of humans, Amazons and Atlanteans. As he departed, Darkseid left behind three Mother Boxes, which could be briefly seen being juggled by Steppenwolf in the deleted scene.A
As for how Steppenwolf will be handled (a voiceless CGI monster like Doomsday, or a mo-cap role starring a name actor), we'll have to wait and see.
