Jokes you had to look a little harder for...

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is filled to the brim with action, comedy, explosions, and character growth, so it's sometimes hard to notice the little gags and details that aren't as obvious.

Fans watch the MCU films so often that each rewatch allows them to notice a new, tiny detail it's easy to miss the first time. Some of these bits are reference to the comics, other films or TV shows, or even ongoing jokes throughout the MCU films.

These subtle Easter Eggs almost feel like rewards, like the directors are saying "thank you" to the fans for caring this much about their films.

The MCU is really funny and even its harshest critics won't deny it. These subtler jokes that don't hit you in the face make it even funnier. Once you notice them though, you'll never be able to unsee them ever again.

9. Dr. Tobias Fünke - Avengers: Infinity War

Before they directed the highest grossing movie of all time, the Russo Brothers worked on a few cult classic sitcoms, including Community and Arrested Development. They even won an Emmy for their work on the pilot episode of the latter.

Though they've never had any Arrested Development actor cameos, they've still found ways to show love to their first sitcom. In Captain America: Civil War, Captain America and his team run past the Bluth family's signature stair car at the Berlin Airport.

However, the most prominent Arrested Development MCU Easter Egg comes in Avengers: Infinity War. When the Guardians of the Galaxy fight Thanos in an illusion version of Knowhere, Eagle Eyed fans can spot a bespectacled blue man wearing what appears to be cut off shorts.

This is clearly a reference to everyone's favourite analyst/therapist, Dr. Tobias Fünke. Played by David Cross, the Arrested Development breakout character being featured as a part of the Collector's Collection is both a great Easter Egg and hilarious, since if the Collector existed in the Arrested Development universe, he would absolutely want to capture someone who suffers from the very rare (and very real) condition of the Never-Nude.
