Adam Sandler's Kids Hate His Movies Too

Tough times at the Sandler family dinner table...

It's been an unfortunately long time since Adam Sandler has made anything truly watchable. His last two - The Ridiculous Six and The Do Over were atrocious, but they were some of the most watched original movies on Netflix, so presumably someone enjoys him.

Not his kids though.

Sandler appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to promote his third Netflix movie, Sandy Wexler - fresh from the news that the streaming service have picked up another four of his movies - and he revealed that his children can’t make it through an entire one of his films:

“They beg to see them. They’re like, ‘Please, it’s not fair! Let me watch your movies. Those people always yell things at you on the street. I don’t know what the heck they’re talking about.... So I show them the movies, they demand this. I’d say about 20 minutes in I see them tuning out, and then I hear them — They’re nervous to say it — but like, ‘Can we watch something else?’ It’s OK, I say no! I don’t get offended.”

That's cruel and unusual punishment, right there.

To be fair to him, Sandler does have some great films, it's just a shame that the best weren't profitable and now he's fixed onto a model for "success" that appeals to his fans but alienates critics rather stunningly. Let's just hope for something better soon.

If only for his children's sake.
