Having already covered The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones, we've now arrived at Revenge of the Sith, where we'll get to see the famous Obi-Wan Kenobi/Anakin Skywalker clash that split the world of Star Wars apart and led to Darth Vader at his most iconic. Once again, many fans speculated over what wasnt in the film as opposed to what was, and there was a huge focus on Vaders melodramatic nooooooooooo (which, as a result, became the go to line for Star Wars amusement). For me, Revenge of the Sith was the end of around a decade of pure Star Wars delight. Ill agree that there is certainly room for improvement in some areas of the film but I believe the core threads work wonders here as Lucas bridges the gap between the two trilogies and Revenge of the Sith does a fine job at making Star Wars a stronger saga...
10. The Evolution of Technology
From the opening space battle above Coruscant, we get so see how the technology of the prequel trilogy is right on the cusp of becoming the original trilogys era of design. Republic ships are becoming more imperial in looks, with hints of star destroyer lines in the larger vessels and, of course, the one and two man fighters are slipping ever closer to looking like X-Wings and TIE fighters. Lucass focus on the evolution of the world of Star Wars as we head towards the original trilogy is something that largely goes unsung. Costumes, spaceships, set decoration, it all begins to evolve over the course of the three films until the final scene in Revenge of the Sith as Palpatine and Vader watch the Death Star begin its construction and were welcomed into the world of Episode IV.
