Avengers 4: Sebastian Stan Just Spoiled The End Of Ant-Man & The Wasp

Who needs set leaks?

In the past few years, Marvel have had such a problem with their plots leaking - whether that's from their own cast, set visitors or other means - that they've consciously tried to close the gates on Avengers: Infinity War to help preserve the magic. That apparently includes marketing misdirection, fake scripts and flatout lies about some of the plot.

Unfortunately, the invitation for the cast to talk about their experiences at the tail-end of the marketing campaign has alsostarted to work against the studio's calls for spoiler preservation (as have the TV spots that keep showing new material needlessly). And it's Sebastian Stan who seems to have spoiled a future Marvel project this time, by talking enthusiastically about a scene in one of the Avengers movies - probably Avengers 4.

Stan spoke to The Independent to discuss one huge scene that got him particularly excited, thanks to the lofty credentials of his co-stars on set:

There was one scene, I think, we had where everybody was there. I can’t really talk about that scene, but I knew it took them three months in planning this scene to have everyone there. You look around and you just saw everyone from Samuel L. Jackson to Michael Douglas to Michelle Pfeiffer. Everybody was there.

That's a nice confirmation that we'll see both the original Ant-Man and The Wasp in an Avengers movie - which surely has to be Avengers 4 since Ant-Man & The Wasp won't introduce Pfeiffer until AFTER that film is released - but it also basically confirms that we're going to get a happy ending.

Part of the appeal of the tragic story of Hank Pym and his wife was that one of them was willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to save the other - and to fulfil their heroic duties - and it would have been nice to wonder whether we'd see that again when it came to rescuing Pfeiffer from the Quantum Realm.

Now we know that both of them survive Ant-man & The Wasp, that mystery is gone, which is a shame.

That we'll see at least one of the scientist heroes in Avengers 4 isn't that surprising, though, considering there's said to be more focus on the multiverse, and they're among the smartest brains on the subject. But still, it's definitely a bit of a spoiler.
