Get ready for the biggest comic book movie scene in the history of cinema, because Avengers: Infinity War has a sequence featuring 32 different characters. At least, that's according to Scarlett Johansson.

So far, we've heard suggestions that the film might include anything up to 67 characters, though recent comments by Chris Evans seem to point to Marvel splitting the cast across Infinity War and its unnamed follow-up to give them more space. Whatever the case, it's still likely to be the biggest movie of its kind ever made.

And with that comes some pretty heavy expectations. Fans will look at the character list - and the precedent set in Captain America: Civil War of major set-pieces (not least the fan-baiting airport sequence) and they'll see the opportunity to put together some stunning scenes. Further than that, they'll see an obligation to do so. Otherwise why bother with something on this scale in the first place?

Now, thanks to Johansson, we know of at least one major set-piece scene that should live up to that sort of billing. She turned up on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to discuss her latest movie Rough Night - which is in no way a rip-off of Very Bad Things - and teased the scene:

“I think in one particular scene there’s like 32 of us, there’s a lot.”

Assuming she means 32 of the main cast - which is very much implied by that use of "us" there - that's an unprecedented number, which will take some serious balance. And you can guarantee that it will involve one almighty slow spinning hero shot, since Marvel are in love with them.

Is she pointing towards the final set piece that could see Thanos and the Black Order take on the combined heroic forces of the Avengers and the Guardians? Because that's certainly the kind of thing that would warrant such a big cast for a single sequence.

Whatever the case, it sounds incredibly exciting.
