Well the first bit of big Avengers news is that the Walt Disney Studios has announced a release date for Marvel Studios€™ sequel to the blockbuster Captain America: The First Avenger on April 4, 2014. The second instalment will pick-up where the highly anticipated Marvel€™s The Avengers (May 4, 2012)leaves off, as Steve Rogers continues his affiliation with Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D and struggles to embrace his role in the modern world. (SPOILER: So he doesn't die in The Avengers movie then *snigger*) So what's your thoughts on the sequel? Will we leave the WWII setting behind us totally? Who will the villain be? And will they sort out the goofy Avengers movie helmet design in the Cap's sequel? The second bit of news comes via a new shot of The Avengers (Assembled) movie showing a very Mark Ruffalo looking Hulk. This is a bolder move than what we're seen in the previous Hulk movies with both Eric Bana and Ed Norton only having a passing resemblance to their green alter ego. This Hulk seems to be very much Mark Ruffalo (he even has his haircut). I'm not too sure about this approach yet. Hulk is Hulk and in Incredible Hulk he looked very much like his comic book design come to life - which I think worked very well. Will this make the Hulk a character audiences can relate to a bit more (leading on to a solo movie success) and will this closer connection to the actor playing him make the green goliath a bit more human? Who knows? Only time will tell and with The Avengers movies just around the corner we can all judge for ourselves then.
