Disney has shuffled around its release schedule, with one change suggesting we're going to be seeing a sequel to Black Panther sooner rather than later.

Alongside Indiana Jones 5 being pushed back to 2021 and Ralph Wrecks The Internet dropping the 'Wreck-It Ralph 2' part of the title came a Marvel Studios change, which sees the previously slated July 31, 2021 release brought forward to February 12 instead.

That opens the door for Black Panther 2 to take that date. The first Black Panther was released in February of this year and grossed over $1bn at the box-office, so it makes sense Marvel would look to repeat that success. It also means that once again they can release it in Black History Month too, which takes place in February.

A three-year gap between movies is common for the MCU as well (see: Iron Man 3, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Ant-Man and the Wasp) and, given the huge amounts of hype around Panther, all the signs point to it being the movie pencilled in here. Kevin Feige has previously expressed his desire to do it, and for director Ryan Coogler to return, although we might not get official confirmation until after Avengers 4 next year.
