Borat character dead?...... Don't count on it

UPDATE:Just as I was posting this article, Variety are reporting that Sacha Baron Cohen has now been confirmed as appearing in Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd which starts filming in February. He will play an eccentric barber who is a competitor of Johnny Depp's Sweeney Todd. Depp and Cohen on screen together........ so weird, yet it seems so right! It was widely assumed that Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (the first and only time I've ever going to use the full title on this site!) would be the only feature film that Cohen could use his most popular character in because he has become so well known now, the reaction from the public wouldn't work. That may not entirely be the case. Producer Jay Roach spoke on the issue with VH1... "We've talked a lot about . We have talked about ideas to try different stuff.""There are always insulated worlds where Borat can go either on this continent or others." If there is even the slightest chance of a sequel, then you just know it's going to happen. The movie has made well over a $100 million dollars worldwide after only two weeks on a modest budget of only $18 million, with very little shooting time or problems with big name cast issues during it's production. The character is becoming something of a global phenomenon and is everywhere at the moment. Like X-Men 4, Pirates 4 or Saw 4 (which will all happen in some form)..... it's like printing your own money. source - vh1, cinema blend
